Pike Lures

Pike lure fishing in the UK is most effective with larger, confidence-building lures designed to cover water and trigger reaction strikes in lakes, rivers, and reservoirs.

At LURESET, we specialise in pike lures that perform in real UK conditions, including hard swimbaits, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, soft shads, and large paddletails from proven brands like Westin, Rapala, Savage Gear, and select JDM specialists.

All pike lures stocked by LURESET are selected and tested for:

  • UK lakes, rivers, and reservoirs

  • Clear and coloured water conditions

  • Targeting both active and pressured pike

This category includes hard baits, soft plastics, and terminal tackle recommended for pike fishing in the UK.

FAQ - Pike Fishing in UK

  • Jerkbaits, large soft shads, spinnerbaits, and hard swimbaits are the most reliable across UK venues. Classic spoons also remain useful for covering water and attracting fish with flash and vibration.

A good starting size is around 12 cm for general use big enough to target pike but not so large you miss bites from smaller fish or other species. This guidance comes from UK predator anglers advising a middle‑of‑the‑road size as a versatile default.

Slower in cold water and higher pressure; faster in autumn or spring when pike are more reactive. The same UK guidance notes cooler temperatures call for snail‑pace retrieves to match sluggish fish

Yes - especially soft shads and paddletails, which you can fish slowly around cover or along weed edges, often producing solid responses even in pressured waters.
